What Can I Expect On My First Visit with Dr. Vance?
By consulting our office, you’re taking an exciting first step toward less pain and easier movement.
Chiropractic care is different. It is this difference that offers new ways to get well and stay well. You’ll meet the doctor after filling out some brief paper work that can be printed off online describing you and your health history. We offer this initial consultation so we can both get to know one another.
If you’re a good candidate for chiropractic care and we think we can help, an examination follows. We’ll study the way you turn and bend. We may test your reflexes. These and other physical, orthopedic and chiropractic tests help us locate areas of your spine that could be the cause of your problem. Our examination is thorough and will put you at ease.
Will I Have To Have X-rays?
X-rays, especially after trauma, can confirm our other findings and make your care more precise. We can tell if we need them after completing the examination. Not every patient needs x-rays, but if Dr. Vance determines it would benefit your care, she will discuss your need for x-rays with you at this time.
How Long Until I Feel Better?
Some patients experience almost instant relief. Others discover that the healing process can take months. Factors which can affect the healing process include your age, your overall health condition, muscle tone, diet and even your attitude.
When Will I Get My First Adjustment?
At Chiropractic Health and Wellness, our first focus is on helping you feel better as fast as possible. Sometimes, Dr. Vance will adjust you on your first visit. Sometimes, if we determine that other diagnostic tests such as x-rays are in your best interest, Dr. Vance might not adjust you right away on the first visit, but she will definitely offer other modalities that will help lessen your pain level right away.
